The Rangers signed Kevin Millwood on 12/29/05. I can’t believe he actually signed here. We have a major hitting park with a team that was so-so last year. Of course we had to pay him $60 million over 5 years. Here are Millwood’s 2005 stats:
ERA 2.86 1st in AL
W-L 9-11 T 43rd in AL
S 0
SO 146 T 13th in AL
He is much better than last year’s Rogers with these stats:
ERA 3.46 7th in AL
W-L 14-8 T 13th in AL
S 0
SO 87 T 54th in AL
Our 2006 starting pitchers’ ERA’s in 2005 were:
Millwood 2.86
Eaton 4.27
Padilla 4.71
Loe 3.42
Dominguez 4.22
Compared to last year’s:
Rogers 3.46
Young 4.26
Rodriguez 5.53
Dickey 6.67
Dominguez 4.22
One of the best pitchers in the AL now has on a Ranger uniform.

I've bookmarked this site and will monitor your comments daily. Congrats on the blog!
Great start on your blog. I hope you enjoy it. Newberg gave a break down of his contract: "He gets a $15 million signing bonus, much if not all of which is deferred, and base salaries of $6 million in 2006, $7.5 million in
2007, $8.5 million in 2008, $11 million in 2009, and -- should the
fifth year vest -- $12 million in 2010." So it looks a whole lot better than 12 million a year. I wonder about that "singing bonus" but I'm sure it helps out this year. Do you rember Delagdo's contract with the Fish last year? The structure of the contract looks familiar. Here's looking forward to '06 and Spring training!
Thanks for reading my blog. And thanks for the information, revnace. I plan to keep this sight up to date and hope you keep reading.
